This page (together with our Cookies Policy) sets out the terms and conditions (“Website Terms”) on which Squirrel (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides access to our website https://www.squirrel.co.uk and any Squirrel mobile applications (together, the “Website”). By ordering products (“Products”) through the Website, you agree to be bound by these Website Terms.

1. ABOUT US AND OUR ROLE
1.1 Company Details: Squirrel is the brand of company number 13189740, having its registered office at 60 Millmead Business Centre, Millmead Road, London, England, N17 9QU.

1.3 Business Model (Important): Squirrel is not an intermediary for restaurants. All Products you order are shipped directly from our warehouse. The contract of sale is therefore between you and Squirrel.
1.4 Delivery Service: We may deliver via our own logistics team or via third‑party couriers. Any applicable delivery or service fees will be shown before checkout.

2. ACCESS TO THE WEBSITE
2.1 Certain sections of the Website are publicly accessible without registering.
2.2 By accessing the Website you agree to these Terms; if you do not, please leave immediately.
2.3 We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your order applies.
2.4 You are responsible for arranging access to the Website and ensuring your details are accurate.

3. CUSTOMER STATUS
3.1 By placing an order you confirm that:
(a) you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts, and
(b) you are at least 18 years old.
3.2 Allergies: Product allergy and ingredient information is provided on the Website and packaging. If you have a specific allergy, please contact us before ordering.
3.3 Age‑Restricted Items: Squirrel does not currently sell age‑restricted products. If introduced in the future, valid ID may be required upon delivery.

4. ORDER PROCESS
4.1 By clicking “Place Order” or equivalent you enter into a binding contract with Squirrel. You are responsible for checking your details before confirming.
4.2 Changes/Cancellations: After payment is authorised, changes or cancellations cannot be guaranteed. We will use reasonable efforts to assist but may decline if preparation has started.
4.3 Payment Authorisation: Orders will not be processed if payment fails.
4.4 Order Acceptance: You will receive an email confirmation when your order is received. If an order cannot be fulfilled, you will be refunded (see 5.6).
4.5 Delivery: Delivery times are estimates only. If you are not present at delivery, we may attempt reasonable alternatives (such as leaving in a safe place) or return the order. Risk passes on delivery to you or an authorised recipient.

5. PRICES AND PAYMENT
5.1 Prices include VAT unless otherwise stated. Delivery and service fees are shown separately at checkout.
5.2 Incorrect Prices: In case of obvious errors, we may contact you before dispatch. We are not obliged to supply at the incorrect price.
5.3 Accepted Methods: Credit/debit cards and other approved payment methods are accepted. 
5.4 Security Checks: We may request card/ID verification upon delivery.
5.5 Discounts & Vouchers: Promotional codes may apply subject to conditions. Please note banks may pre‑authorise the full (pre‑discount) order amount for 3–5 working days.
5.6 Refunds: If your order is rejected or cancelled, funds will be released back to your account. Timings vary depending on your bank.

6. CUSTOMER CARE AND RETURNS
6.1 Customer satisfaction is a priority. Contact us via the “Help” section.
6.2 Complaints: Please notify us of any quality or delivery issues within 24 hours. We may request evidence (e.g. photographs).
6.3 Returns: For safety reasons, opened or unsealed food products cannot usually be returned. Faulty, damaged, or incorrect items are covered by consumer law.
6.4 Statutory Rights: Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

7. PRODUCT SAFETY AND SHELF LIFE
7.1 Shelf Life: All Products comply with UK market standards for labelling and shelf life. Please follow packaging instructions and “use by/best before” dates.
7.2 Ingredient & Allergen Info: We take care to provide accurate product information. Final reference is always the product packaging.

8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Website content is protected by copyright. Personal, non‑commercial use only. “Squirrel” and associated marks are our property.

9. USER CONTENT
You must not upload unlawful, defamatory, infringing or harmful content. We reserve the right to remove such content.

10. LINKS
Links to third‑party sites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content.

11. DISCLAIMERS
Product images are illustrative only. Delivery times are estimates. Except where prohibited by law, we disclaim liability for indirect or consequential losses.

12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Our liability is limited to the lower of twice the order value or £100, except where excluded by law.

13. TERMINATION
We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms.

14. COMMUNICATIONS
We may contact you by email or notices on the Website. You agree that electronic communication satisfies legal requirements.

15. FORCE MAJEURE
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control (e.g. strikes, natural disasters, pandemics).
